Introducing our latest footwear offering: a new interpretation of the Vibram Furoshiki – the wrapping sole. Furoshiki, titled the Wrapping Sole by Vibram, is a longstanding style in the Vibram product catalog. Early inspiration of this line comes from the old Japanese art of folding cloth and fabric.

Initially started around 710 B.C. during the Nara period in Japan, the art of folding cloths took shape in order to protect and package important goods and treasures, often found in Japanese temples. This art of folding was cherished and appreciated throughout Japanese history and still exists in the modern world. Furoshiki folding eventually grew to global notoriety and is now practiced around the world.

Given Vibram’s steady history with the Furoshiki silhouette, we took a great opportunity to explore this side of their footwear line. Our growing relationship with Vibram and our Japanese heritage made it a great fit to design our own Furoshiki. Our Suicoke Furoshiki “Futon” line adds several unique features that further expand upon the original Vibram design. The list of features the Suicoke Furoshiki offers is plentiful, including a thick padded upper, high spec fastening straps, multi-colored folding system and traction in arctic conditions among many more.
